You are breathing right? Of course you are! Our first and only instinct is breath and breathing. Our breath can get a bit distorted with our modern life and constant distractions. But, did you know that just breathing and feeling your breath is a form of mediation?

Did you know that it is scientifically proven that meditation stimulates your brain…in a good way! and calms your nervous system? This is important because we are living in a world that is begging for our attention in all directions. Where do we look? What do we focus on? Have you ever looked at your phone for a few minutes and then I get distracted and then wonder what you were doing or meant to do in the first place....I know I have! Have you been there? Instagram minutes? Facebook minutes? Don't put it down YET, if you are reading this. :)

Let's reset.

Let's find focus.

Let's meditate.

Read this first, then try this exercise to keep your mind and body and spirit healthy. See below for a quick and easy way to reset with mediation.

Find a comfy spot. Sit up straight. ;) Place your hands with your fingers lightly interlaced across your belly with your thumbs just at the top of your ribs. Now, breathe IN deeply for count of 4, inhale 1,2,3,4. Breathe OUT for a count of 4. exhale 1,2,3,4. REPEAT. a total of 10 times or more. Feel your fingers expand as you inhale, feel them close as you exhale. This pattern breathing is called diaphragmatic breathing and it will calm and reset your mind, body and spirit. It really works. How do you feel? I hope you will try it or maybe you already have a meditation practice. Let me know how it went.

Have fun with it!
